Al received his BFA from the College for Creative Studies in Detriot, MI, majoring in Illustration. In 2006 stone and bronze became his preferred mediums, often combining both to make life-size, representational figurative, fantasy and animal sculptures. The sculptures are carved with an illustrative approach giving emphasis to realism and detail. Working as a Park Ranger for 40 years, much of Al’s inspiration is drawn from the natural world. He has attended MARBLE/marble for the past 12 years.
Al will be giving workshops and providing one-on-one instruction throughout all three sessions of M/m 31. This is a great opportunity to learn from a master of detail and expression.
